Narrated by –Hazrat Jaabir- [Radiyal Laahu ‘Anhu]

“I once saw Holy Prophet Mustafaa [Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam] (Peace
and Blessings be upon him) on the night of a full moon. On that night he wore
red clothing. At times I looked at the full moon and at times at Mustafaa
(Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam). Ultimately I came to the conclusion that
Rasool al laah (Peace and Blessings be upon him) was more handsome, beautiful
and more radiant than the full moon.”

“The Jew said that Hazrat Moosa
 (’Alaiehis
Sallam)
would put his hand under his armpit and when he withdrew it, it
would come out shining bright like moon. No doubt, this is correct. I will say
that our holy Prophet
 (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam)
 was light
from head to toe. Even the moon paled into insignificance before the glow and
brightness of his face. His holy teeth were such that when our Prophet
 (Sallal Laahu
‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam)
smiled in the darkness of the night
and his
 (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam)
 blessed
mouth opened, the sparkle of his teeth shed a flood of light. The blessed wife
of our holy Prophet
 (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam)
Hazrat
Aayishah Siddeeqah

(Radiyal Laahu Anha),
 could find the needle used
for stitching her clothes in the flood of the light released by his
 (Sallal Laahu
‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam)
blessed teeth.

        “One night, two
companions (Usaied and ‘Ubaad, Radiyal Laahu ‘Anhuma) of our holy
Prophet (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) were sitting
near him and were engrossed in talking to each other. The night was dark and it
was raining. While engaged in talking it became late. These two companions (Radiyal
Laahu ‘Anhuma) requested our holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa
Sallam) that it is dark outside, due to rain there would be water and
mud in the lanes, it would be difficult for them to reach their homes because
there will be no light. (The Companions were carrying (wooden) sticks, because
it was the tradition of our holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) to keep a
stick in his hand and the companions (Radiyal Laahu ‘Anhum) followed the
traditions of the Prophet (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) committedly
with love.) The holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) told one of
the companions to give him his stick. Our holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu
‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam) touched the head of that stick with
his blessed hand and said take this it will act as a light for you. The two
companions got up, and as they came out the stick began to give light as a
torch does. The two began to go on their ways in the light coming out of this
stick. After going for some distance the ways to their homes separated. The one
with the lighted stick was questioned by the other, “How will it be possible
for me to reach my home.” The companion with the lighted stick lighted the
stick of the other one with a touch of his stick so that the light also started
coming out of the other stick and both reached their homes easily.

        The excellence of
Hazrat Moosa
 (’Alaiehis-Salaam)
 only lighted his hands but
see whichever stick the holy hands of our holy Prophet
 (Sallal Laahu
‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam)
touched it gave light and whichever
stick that stick touched that also started giving light. This feat is exclusive
to our holy Prophet
 (Sallal Laahu ‘Alaiehi Wa Sallam).
