Love demands that beloved should be praised. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the beloved of Almighty Allaah. He is the leader of all the prophets, ruler of Arabs and non-Arabs.

Allaah Kareem termed his Zikr as Allaah Kareem’s Zikr and attached Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ name with His name and told us that Allaah Kareem Himself sends Durood Shareef on Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.  Allaah Almighty says in Holy Quraan:

“Surely, Allaah [Almighty] and His angels send Blessings to the Prophet. O you who believe, do pray Allaah to bless him, and send your Salaam

(prayer for his being in peace) to him in abundance”.

DUROOD SHAREEF

Philosophy Behind Durood Shareef
Every Muslim knows that he has been provided with the treasure of “Ieemaan” and “Irfaan” (Islaamic faith and knowledge, wisdom). The mankind was groping about in the dark of ignorance and steeped in barbarism. The Holy Prophet [Peace be upon Him] enlightened him with knowledge and equipped with humanely qualities i.e. good conduct and beautiful manners.

This favor and kindness of his demand of us to be beholden to him, to love him and keep praying to Allaah Almighty for his exaltation. This objective can be easily achieved by reciting “Durood Shareef (invoking Allaah’s blessings on the Holy Prophet) which can be recited in all conditions and all time.

The reciter of Durood Shareef actually implores Allaah Almighty: “. O’ Allaah! I am unable to thank Your beloved Prophet for his great favors to me. You may send Your infinite blessings on him on my behalf in this world and the world hereafter and grant him Your “Taqarrub” (nearness, proximity) more than all other prominent ones.
