Brief Facts

He was born in Makkah some time in 573 CE, to a rich family of the Quraish tribe.
His father’s name was Usmaan Abu Quhaafa and his mother was Salmaah bint Sakhaar (nicknamed Umm-ul-Khaier)
He was blessed with the constant company of Rasoolul Laah
[Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
He was called Al – Sideeq (the truthful, believing one) by Allaah [Ta’aalaa] and his Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]

That he was called Al – `Ateeq (the Delivered one) by Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]

That he was called Al – Awwaah (the compassionate one)

That he is the only one who believed Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]

while others doubted
That his father, his son and grand – son all embraced Islaam
That he is the most beloved companion of the Rasoolul Laah
[Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
The hardships and ridicule he had to endure alongside Rasoolul Laah
[Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
That he accompanied the Prophet
in the cave [Ghar e Sau/Thawr/Thaur when they traveled to Madeenah by Allaah Almighty’s Command.
That he was the first free man to embrace Islaam
That he was the first man to spend his wealth for the sake of Allaah Kareem
That he was the first to make Jihaad and sacrifice himself for Rasoolul Laah
[Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
That he was the first man to announce his Islaam openly
His conversion brought many people to Islaam. He persuaded his intimate friends to convert to Islaam and presented Islaam to others in such a way that many of his friends accepted Islaam.
Those who converted to Islam at the insistence of Abu Bakr were:
Hazrat Usmaan Ibn Affaan [Radiyal LaahAnhu] (who would become the 3rd Caliph)
Hazrat Al-Zubayr [Radiyal LaahAnhu]
(Played a part in the Muslim conquest of Egypt)
Hazrat Talhaa [Radiyal LaahAnhu]
Hazrat Abdur Rahmaan bin Awf [Radiyal LaahAnhu]
(who would remain an important part of the Raashidun Caliphate)
Hazrat Sa`ad ibn Abi Waqqaas  [Radiyal LaahAnhu]
(who played a important part in the Islaamic conquest of Persia)
Hazrat Abu Ubaidaah ibn al-Jarraah [Radiyal LaahAnhu]
(who remained commander in chief of the Raashidun army in Syria )
Hazrat Abu Salaama[Radiyal LaahAnhu]

That he was the first man to build a masjid in Islaam
That he was the first man Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
chose to lead the Muslims to Hajj
That he was instrumental in preserving the Qur’aan in written form.
That he was always ahead when it comes to serving Islaam and doing good
That he was promised heaven by Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
That he will be the first to enter heaven from Muhammad’s Rasoolul Laah

His daughter married Hazrat Ummul Mu’mineen Saiyyidatunaa Aaishah Siddeeqah

That he loved to make Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] happy

That Allaah Kareem ordered his apostle Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]

to consult  Hazrat Abu Bakr Sideeq [Radiyal Laahu Anhu]

That he had a gift when it came to interpreting dreams
That he is the best man that ever walked under the rising or setting sun after the Prophets [Alaiehimus Salaam]
That he is the one in charge after Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]

That Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]

considered directly appointing him so that no one may disagree

That he had no interest in receiving leadership or obtaining authority
That he was never interested in conducting commerce or collecting wealth
the inheritance of Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
– Allaah Kareem and his property
That he never gained wealth or riches during his khilaafat
That he was the one to fill the political gap and guide the nation after Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] passing away.
That he was a just ruler, never judging in favor of his closest friends
That he would not abuse his power even in position of authority
That he was appointed him to lead armies and delegations
That Allaah Kareem’s creations confirmed the high status of Al – Siddeeq.
That he would buy the weak Muslim slaves and free them by the orders of Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
The people appointed him to lead prayer in the absence of Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam] and he approved and prayed behind him
That Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
appointed him to lead the prayer in his presence
That he wished to be buried next to Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
and in the same manner
That he and Rasoolul Laah [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]
both passed away in the same age and on the same day
