BRIEF GLIMPSES
Proficiency in over fifty branches of knowledge
If we study the life of Alaa Hazrat Imaam Ahmad Razaa Khaan Bareillvi
[Rahmatul Laahi Alaieh]- we will discover that his proficiency in various subjects total over fifty-four branches of knowledge.
Alaa
Hazrat learnt Islaamic studies by leaps and bounds. When he was four,
he completed the (oral recitation) of the Holy Qur’aan. At five, he
delivered his first speech, at twelve, he wrote his first book in
Arabic, a commentary of “Hidayat-un-Nahav”. 

At the age of thirteen, on
19th November 1869, Dastàar (accomplishment of Islaamic studies) was
conferred on him. On this very day, he wrote a Fatwaa on the issue of
foster-brotherhood and presented it to his respected father, Hazrat Naqi
Ali Khaan [Rahmatul Laah Alaieh], who found it absolutely correct.
Looking to the talent of his son, he authorized him to work as a Mufti
(one who issues Islaamic verdicts) since then. Thus, at 13, Alaa Hazrat
[Rahmatul Laah Alaieh]became full-fledged Mufti. ….. The only Motto of
his life was the “love of the Holy Prophet” [ Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa
Sallam] and he could leave no stone unturned in defending this love.
Throughout his life and in all his works he maintained this Motto and in
this respect he could not compromise with any.
