Hadees Shareef about Sadqaah – Charity
In Saheeh Bukhaari there is a Hadees that says the companion of the Holy Prophet [Sallal Laahu Alaieh Wa Sallam]. The leader of a tribe from amongst the Helpers of Madinah [Ansaar] Hazrat Saad bin Ubadaah (Peace be upon him, his family and his companions), whose mother had died in his absence came to the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him, his family and his companions) and said:
O Prophet of Allaah [Ta’aalaa]! My mother has died
Is there anything that I can spend to reward her?
Na am!
Yes! Replied the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him, his family and his companions)
Hazrat Saad was a rich man who owned many orchards of dates etc. He told the Holy #Prophet that he has dedicated a certain #orchard as a gift [Sadqah] for his mother’s reward. This is called a recurring gift [Sadqah Jaaria]. As long as some one benefits from this #garden , by eating fruit or sitting in the shade of its trees….
